• Your brain weighs about 3lbs.
• The human brain is about 75% water.
• Is made up of around 100 billion nerve cells and even more support cells.

• Is the most energy consuming part of your body. The brain represents only 2% of the body weight, but it uses up to 20% of the body's energy production.
• The left side of the brain controls your right side. So if someone had a stroke, which affected the left side of the brain it would be likely that the right side of their body would be affected.
• The neocortex (a section of the brain involved with language and consciousness) accounts for about 76% of the mass of the human brain. Human neocortex is much larger than any animals.
