Headway Dorset holds many fundraising events throughout the year, and we are grateful to everyone who organises events on our behalf.

Previous fundraising events include sponsored abseil, cycle rides, proceeds from Christmas lights, dances and street collections.

 

Living with Brain Injury Information Mornings

Headway Dorset and Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust jointly host a 'Living with Brain Injury' event. These quarterly sessions are run in partnership and are open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about brain injury - service users, carers, professionals or employers.

 People are welcome to drop in and there will be information available on a range of topics and problems that may be experienced following brain injury such as fatigue, pacing, memoryand advice on continuing rehabiliation and returning to work.

Action For Brain Injury Week 2009

With Action on Brain Injury week this year highlighting prevention of brain injury through the wearing of cycle helmets, the week is going to be focussed on reducing the 20 % of brain injuries in children and young people being caused by cycling accidents. Wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of severe brain injury by up to 88 %. Headway Dorset is going to be going into schools throughout the County delivering presentations and holding awareness raising events. Brain Injury Awareness

Not only throughout Brain injury awareness week but throughout the year, Headway Dorset will be holding a number of events. These include collections in Poole and Dorchester. There will also be a number of talks held to educate school children in preventing brain injury. Carers Support Meetings
